import and export 进出口
pros and cons 优缺点
In today’s era of globalization, similar products are easily available around the globe. Some people support the trend of import and export whereas others reckon it as a negative practice. This essay will further discuss both the pros and cons of these viewpoints and provide my opinion in the end.
On the one hand, there are two benefits of this trend. Firstly, owing to the availability of different stock in terms of varieties as compared to the past, the reach of the common public has increased. This is to say when ordering from abroad, only wealthy families were able to buy imported things because they were sufficiently capable of paying the extra charges incurred in terms of shipping and tax. Apart from this, import and export business has dwelled between countries, thus, making the economy of involved nations prosper in a positive direction.
On the other hand, the weaknesses of this phenomenon should not be ignored. First of all, the availability of the same products also means that there is no diversity in products and designs. As a result, tourists will not prefer to purchase and this may affect the development of tourism. Another issue is that people are losing touch with their native culture and designs. For example, now, men wear the same shirts and trousers all over the world. Their ethnic costumes are disappearing. This not only destroys cultural practices and values but also affects the livelihoods of traditional craftsmen.
To conclude, although the easy accessibility of products has made life easy for people, this is a negative development as well. In my opinion, international products should be available everywhere but at the same time local products should not be allowed to disappear from the market.
